RFID – Contactless identification and management of goods

Situation

State-of-the-art logistics management in warehouses aims for a number of competing criteria: The objectives are to maximize use of storage space while at the same time maximizing processing speeds and reliability in monitoring and controlling the items. This requires high performance, state-of-the-art RFID systems where the goods are tagged and the system allows for fast, reliable contactless monitoring and processing.

Solution

High performance RFID antennas provide an excellent solution to help to solve this dilemma. With high-gain and low VSWR s antennas will serve as a reliable, high-performance device to identify the units under control. The available information can then be integrated into the system. With a Poynting antenna the main focus can lie on system optimization for intelligent goods management compared to trying to find weak spots on the component level.

PATCH-A0025 antenna covers both, EU and USA, RFID bands (860-960 MHz). The antenna has been designed to be waterproof and is easy to install. It is circularly polarised for reading in any orientation. VSWR is typically less than 1.3:1, giving a return loss better than 20dB for higher reliability.

PATCH-A0026 antenna covers both, EU and USA, RFID bands (860-960 MHz).  It is linearly polarised and therefore best suited if the alignment of the RFID tags is defined, e.g. in a production line. VSWR is typically less than 1.3:1, giving a return loss better than 20dB which increases reliability. The antenna is weatherproof and easy to install.
